ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The election is less than two weeks away now and Saturday people all over Georgia took advantage of Saturday voting and cast their ballots early.

Voters lined up at the Candy Room on Pine Avenue, just like they would go to their own precinct on voting day.  It is the first time voters were able to cast their ballot on a Saturday for the general election, something many voters say is a big convenience.

"I work every day and today was a great day to make I it happen so I wouldn't run into not being able to make it before the polls closed," says Nicole Crawford.

Election officials in Dougherty County say early voting has been very successful this year.

As of Friday, more than 780,000 Georgia residents had voted early.  If you haven't been able to get out to the polls yet, early voting lasts until Friday.
