THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

A south Georgia Boys and Girls Club is working to keep homeless people warm this winter.

The Thomas County Boys and Girls Club launched the "Warm Feet, Warm Hearts" campaign.

This community-wide service campaign is designed to help area homeless who need socks.

"If your feet are warm, your body is warm. We are reaching out to school aged children, men and women with diabetes, and just people in the community," said Unit Director Saundra Austin.

Organizers say their goal is to collect and distribute at least 1,000 pairs of socks.
