THOMAS COUNTY, GA (WALB) -
You can learn about a fun competition while helping out homeless animals in Thomasville.
Next Friday, the Thomasville-Thomas County Humane Society will host their fall benefit "Mustangs At Milestone."
Competitive Horse Trainer Marsha Hartford Sapp will demonstrate how she trains wild mustangs for the "Extreme Mustang Makeover."
All the proceeds benefit the Humane Society.
"The neat thing is at the end of the competition all of the horses are offered for adoption to general public. So not only are the horses given good training, but their also given good homes at the end of the competition," said Sapp.
"The Thomasville-Thomas County Humane Society takes in about 5,000 animals a year. Homeless, abandoned, abused animals of Thomas County. And these funds will go to support that. Food, personnel costs, costs of running a shelter," said Executive Director Edward Williams.
The event will be at Milestone Plantation at 5:30 p.m.
Tickets are $75/person, or $600/table for 8, with limited seating.
