VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Goodwill in Valdosta is expanding. Today a new training center opened next to the career center and retail store on St. Augustine Road.

The training center will offer career education to anyone who's had difficulty finding work. Thirteen students have already signed up but the center hopes to serve over 120 in the next few years.

The training center will house classrooms, a call center, and computer lab, where students will learn interview skills, time management, how to job search, budget, and much more.

"They can be here from short term to long term, the maximum time is anywhere from three to four months. And then we will look at community internships in the community with employers that have wanted to partner with us to see if these individuals are ready for competitive employment," said Sondra Hampton, Training Center Manager.

The training center is open for business now but the construction will officially finish in two weeks.
