A Northwest Albany woman is hospitalized in fair condition after accidentally shooting herself.
39 year old Malika Norwood was unloading her 22 caliber Glock in her home in the 3800 block of Dominion Court around 3:30 Tuesday afternoon. The gun went off, shooting her in the lower right leg.
Police are urging gun owners to learn about their firearms and the safe procedures to operate them. Albany Police will offer their next Basic Firearms Course November 3rd, and are asking new gun owners to sign up.
