ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

MOODY AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. - Members of the world-famous USAF Thunderbirds are landing at the base this afternoon, in advance of their full-length shows in the Moody AFB Open House on October 27 & 28.

The Thunderbirds are the Air Force's demonstration team based out of Nellis Air Force Base, Nev. They tour the globe performing aerobatic formations and solo flying.

The Moody Air Force Base Open House is a free, Saturday and Sunday event open to the public. Gates open at 9 a.m. each day and the show starts at 11 a.m. each day. Schedule is subject to change.

This year's theme is "Legacy of Liberty 2012" which celebrates the Air Force's 65th birthday and personnel contributions from WWII to present day.

There will be much more than just the high performance jets at the show. Base officials say there will be various Air Force demonstrations, aerial acrobatics with other craft, several static displays, an honor guard, and even a jet bus.

Thunderbird pilot autographs and  T-shirts will be available.
