ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
After several years of record enrollment, the number of students attending Georgia public colleges and universities is down this fall.
Official numbers recently published show total enrollment at 314,365, down 1.2% over last fall.
Darton is the only college in our area with higher enrollment. It grew 4.9%, the fourth highest rate in the state.
Bainbridge College has the largest decrease in the state at 21.3%.
That's followed by Albany State, 8.3%, Valdosta State down 4.4%, Georgia Southwestern was down 2.4%.
South Georgia decreased by 1.9%, and ABAC was down the least, only half a percent.
