Dougherty Co. early voting nears 6000

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Early voters are coming out in solid numbers in Dougherty County.

Around 6,000 voters have already cast their votes in person in Dougherty County.

Statewide, the total now tops a half million.

Election Officials say there are advantages to voting early.

"We do have a system that allows us to pre-fill your information, which means your name and address and your birth date. Everything is pre-printed for you and all we ask you to do is review that information and sign it two places then you're off," said Dougherty County Board of Elections Supervisor Ginger Nickerson.

Early voting ends November 2nd.

You can vote early this Saturday from 9 to 4.

Albany's Saturday location is in the Candyroom at 125 Pine Avenue.
