ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

With less than two weeks before Election Day, Congressman Sanford Bishop accepts the endorsement of education advocates.

Students, teachers, and parents gathered at Albany's Downtown Library Wednesday evening to show their support for the veteran 2nd District Congressman.

The former and current Field Directors for the Georgia Association of Educators in our area spoke in support of Representative Bishop.

He says he's grateful for the support and won't let his constituents down when it comes to education.

"I promise that I will take this trust of responsibility to act forward in your behalf to Washington to continue fighting for more teacher jobs, to preserve teachers' jobs, aids, school bus drivers and cafeteria workers," said Representative Bishop.

Bishop is being challenged by Republican John House in the 2nd District race.
