BPS works to prevent vandalism

Posted: Updated:

A south Georgia police department is working to prevent vandalism at a public park.

Bainbridge Public Safety officers say there have been several recent incidents of someone damaging city bathrooms and batting cages at Bill Reynolds Sports Park.

Investigators say they will install surveillance cameras and increase patrols to try to catch the vandals.

"People want to enjoy these parks and it's just sad that we have people that are involved in this kind of crime to tear up things that are put there for younger generations to enjoy themselves," said Major Robert Humphrey.

Bainbridge Public Safety is offering a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest of the vandal or vandals.
