Albany City Manager to study gas plant options

Posted: Updated:
ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

City commissioners authorized City Manager James Taylor to come up with a plan to help the city work out a deal on how to pay for the costly clean up of an old manufactured gas plant.

The state ordered Water Gas and Light to start digging up the site by March.

The project could cost up to $10 million. $750,000 dollars is needed to get started.

WG&L wants the city to split the cost evenly.

Commissioners want to study their options.
