COLQUITT, GA (WALB) -
The new Miller County School Board fired the Superintendent of the troubled district Tuesday night.
Robert McIntosh is currently suspended. His termination is effective November 15th. He has a right to appeal.
The Governor removed the previous board members because of ongoing problems that threatened the system's accreditation. Three weeks ago, new members were sworn in.
They suspended McIntosh as they looked into issues with the system. At Tuesday night's meeting, they voted to fire him.
They plan to hire an interim superintendent soon as they launch a search for a permanent replacement.
Technology Director Jeff Hatcher also resigned Tuesday night.
