ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
The main library in downtown Albany is getting a makeover and will relocate for a few months.
The central library on North Jackson Street will close on November 26th and open December 3rd across the street in a temporary facility.
The renovation project could last anywhere between seven to nine months. The hours will stay the same.
"We want to make sure our patrons and our community have the best library available and it will. It will be a state of the art library the community can be very proud of," said Mary Antoine, the interim director.
Not as many books and computers will be available at the temporary facility. But patrons can order a book from the online calendar and pick it up at another location.
Sales tax money will pay for the renovations.
