The Lee County Sheriff's Department is now working with the Albany Crime stoppers. The Lee County Sheriff's Department asked to join the Albany Crime-stoppers program. The Sheriff's Department believes it will be a helpful tool in closing some cases.
Community Leaders, Administrators and Parents are touring schools in Lee County.
The tour opened with a welcome from Lee County School Superintendent Dr. Walters around 8:30am.
Then they were escorted to four other schools in the district, Lee County Pre-K, Primary and the Middle School.
The tour also includes a stop at Twin Oaks Elementary.
This is the seventh year for the bus tour and school officials say it's very much needed.
"We have a large responsibility placed on our shoulders. We want the community to come in and see what's going on in our schools," said School Superintendent Dr. Larry Walters.
The tour will end this afternoon with closing remarks from the Superintendent.
