Leesburg organization helps kids enjoy Marks Melon Patch

LEESBURG, GA (WALB) -

A Leesburg organization dedicated to helping children with mental and physical disabilities helped children enjoy a nice autumn day in at Marks Melon Patch.

The folks at Butterfly Kisses provided a picnic lunch for all the members and their families.

They took a tour of the melon patch and enjoyed a hayride.

Butterfly Kisses provides social interaction for children with any type of mental or physical disability and organizers say it's important those children get a chance to play together.

"A lot of the children don't interact well with other children who don't have any disabilities, so we like to come together as a group so in case there are some higher behavioral responses, they kind of blend in with the other kids," said Traci Henry, Butterfly Kisses Founder
