ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
One of the biggest weeks of the year for Albany culminates Saturday with Albany State University's homecoming parade and football game.
Festivities continued Friday night with a carnival.
Students, faculty, staff and visitors enjoyed rides, games and food on campus.
ASU's Student Advisory Board put on the carnival and all proceeds will help fund programs on campus.
SAB officials say the event gives the whole community a chance to enjoy a carnival in case they missed the Georgia National Fair or can't make it to the upcoming Albany Exchange Club Fair.
"We already have an Albany fair that comes, but to actually have a local fair on campus, so the students don't have to travel to the Perry fair, I think it's a great opportunity for everybody in the community to come out and have a great time," said SAB member Brandie Hall.
The carnival is open until midnight and Saturday from 5 pm to 10pm. Wristbands cost $10.
