ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Albany Woman's Club names its family of the year recognized for their selfless work in the community.

Arva Lee and John Greene were honored Monday.

Mrs. Greene says she feels inadequate but honored that friends would think highly enough of her and her family to give them the honor.

She has 6 children,19 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren with another on the way.

She says her family does so many great things.

She says love and acceptance is the key to community service.

"You just have to give a lot of love and accept what the children can be and do and love them for what they are not what you want them to be," said Arva Lee Greene.

Her kids and grandkids are scattered all over, even in Afghanistan.

She says she keeps in touch with them through frequent phone calls, texts and Skype.
