ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
South Georgia seniors won't have to wait too much longer for a state of the art new center just for them.
On Monday, officials broke ground on the SOWEGA Council on Aging's Senior Life enrichment Center Project.
The $8M dollar project will include a commercial kitchen, a gym, a computer lab craft rooms and even a ballroom dancing floor.
The Executive Director is thrilled the project is finally coming to fruition.
"It bothered me that all of the counties had a nice new center and we were an old uso that leaked, that bothered me so now we are going to have the prime place," said Kay Hind, Executive Director of the SOWEGA Council on Aging.
They hope to have the center up and running by next December.
