ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A man driving a stolen Lexus reached speeds of more than 100 miles per hour as he led law enforcers through three counties Tuesday afternoon.

He then crashed head-on into a deputy's cruiser

Crisp County deputies tried to stop Jason Blythe for speeding on I-75.

He drove through Turner and Tift counties, got off on Exit 69, and plowed into Tift County Colonel Larry Taylor's car.

Taylor was treated at the scene.

Blythe remains hospitalized at Tift Regional.

The car he was driving had been reported stolen from Alabama.

Here is the official report from Officer Lee Hobbs-

On the above date and time while operating laser at the 104 mile marker southbound GA 401, I checked the listed vehicle at 84 mph in a 70 mph zone.

I attempted to perform a traffic stop on the vehicle and the vehicle failed to stop. At that time, I initiated a pursuit on the vehicle.

At the 97 mile marker southbound on ramp, the offender attempted to run Deputy Purvis off the roadway.

The pursuit continued into Turner County and Tift County. The vehicle exited off at Exit 66 and got on Highway 41 South, where he collided with a Tift County Sheriff Deputy.

Upon further investigation, the vehicle came back stolen, and I was able to locate an unknown amount of suspected marijuana in the vehicle.
