The first Georgia Throwdown exceeded even the expectations of the organizers.
Despite getting a rather late start planning the 3-day music festival, they were able secure a lineup of more than 60 acts that included some big name artists such as Big & Rich, and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
More than 15,000 people showed up at the Exchange Club Fairgrounds.
They enjoyed outstanding music, a professional setup and production, and vendors who sold delicious food. We've only heard positive reviews about the event, and there's no reason to think it will go anywhere but up.
With one successful festival under their belts, and a full year to plan, organizers expect to attract more top flight entertainers and bigger crowds next year.
We applaud them for having the guts to try to pull off such a large event in Albany, and the foresight to believe people from around South Georgia would support it.
