ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The weather is cooperating and the crowds are flocking to Spence Field in Moultrie for the 35th annual Sunbelt Ag Expo. Official believe they could see 100,00 people come through the gates today.

Georgia Governor Nathan Deal is scheduled to appear today, and antique tractors will be featured on the first day of the largest Ag exposition in North America.

Georgia's Agriculture  Commissioner  and Department of Highway Safety Director are also scheduled to be among the dignitaries at Sunbelt.

For the fourth time in Sunbelt Ag Expo's 34-year history Alabama will be the spotlight state and state officials say the first three were great, but the fourth time around will be a spotlight to remember.

The theme for the Alabama Spotlight State is: Alabama Agriculture – Well Grounded. The idea reflects that all things related to farming and agriculture begin with a good foundation, including the men and women who care for the soil, air and water necessary to sustain all forms of life.

Jim Wallace and Stephen Abel will both have reports today from Sunbelt Expo in WALB's evening news.

The expo even has its own smartphone app, and you can download it when you scroll to the bottom of this page.

Georgia Department of Agriculture Commissioner Gary W. Black announced the full schedule of agriculture-inspired events, demonstrations and activities planned for this year's Sunbelt Ag Expo, happening Oct. 16-18.

"The Expo offers the perfect venue for the GDA to foster our existing and future relationships with Georgia farmers and consumers and we are thrilled to participate in the 35th anniversary of the event. Last year we took an important step in becoming a full-fledged partner with the Southeast's premier farm show," Black said. "

This year we are excited to announce more events and activities, in addition to the very exciting unveiling of our new Georgia Grown magazine, which features stories and facts about our state's No. 1 industry."

The Agriculture Building features numerous live food demonstrations and free taste-tests for Expo attendees throughout the three-day long event.
