Marines are mentoring Albany students. Dougherty County's International Studies Elementary Charter School held a mentorship kickoff Monday.
It is called MIA, Mentors in Action. The Marines will spend time with the students talking with them about school and life.
Staff Sgt. Juana De Los Santos, Marine Corp Logistics Base says, "everybody looks up to somebody, and some children don't have two parents in the home, so why not bring in a Marine to influence them positively to grow up better"
The marines will spend an hour or two each week with the kids.
