The unemployment rate in the Southwest Georgia region declined to 8.2 percent in April, down two-tenths of a percentage point from 8.4 percent in March. The rate was 8.8 percent in April a year ago.More >>

You can help support an Albany school while test driving a new Ford.
Sunbelt Ford town of Albany teamed up with Martin Luther King Junior Elementary School for the Drive For Your Community event.
For every person who test drives a vehicle, Ford donates 20 dollars to the school for their tutoring program.
"With all of the budget cuts this year, we wanted to go to the children's doors, we wanted to eliminate those excuses, I don't have transportation, I don't have money to get my child to and from school without school hours, so we wanted to go to the homes where the children reside," says Travis Ervin, Martin Luther King Elementary School Teacher.
They raised over $3,000 for Martin Luther King Junior Elementary School.
