Community cleans up their neighborhood

An east Albany community spent their Saturday morning cleaning up their neighborhood.

It's part of Mayor Hubbard's Call to Service, an initiative to clean up litter in Albany. Organizers say they want to get young people involved to take pride in their community and keep them off the streets.

"They start getting in trouble at a young age, and I think if we can get them busy doing something positive at a young age, it will be better for the city," says Harold Williams, Colonial Village Neighborhood Watch Block Cpt.

They picked up litter on 8 streets, covering about 70 homes. They filled about 20 trash bags with garbage.
