Boy's wish comes true at high school football game

THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

The Thomasville High football team made a sick little boy's wish come true Friday night.

Six year-old Michael Stephens led the Bulldogs onto the field before the game. He's autistic and has epilepsy.

Michael had successful heart surgery earlier this year and is scheduled for brain surgery next week.

His mom says, since he can't play football, he just wanted a chance to be on the field with a real team.

"He loves football. He can't play football now because he has too many seizures, so until he gets better there's no way that he will be able to play football and this is something that he loves to do, so to have the chance to be on the field when he can't even do little league, you know, that's awesome," says Katoya Stephens, Mother.

Michael lives in Albany, but his mom and her family went to Thomasville High. And his uncle played for the Bulldogs, so they agreed to make his wish come true.
