COLQUITT COUNTY, GA (WALB) -

Saturday is a popular day for yard sales. And if you are looking for one this weekend, there's one stretching for a hundred miles.

The second annual 100 Mile Peanut Pickin' Regional Yard Sale is this Saturday.

Six Southwest Georgia towns are getting ready to participate in the second annual 100 Mile Peanut Pickin' Regional Yard Sale.

"We finished marking off all the lots for the vendors, and right now we are setting up the stage," says Brittany Evans, Downtown Enhancement Director.

The sale route will follow Highway 33 from Cordele through Sylvester, loop through downtown Moultrie and follow 133 through Berlin, Morven and 333 to Quitman.

"Last year we had some really great hotspots, no one made less than $500 so we were extremely pleased," says Karen Rackley, Worth Co./Sylvester Chamber of Commerce Dir.

Vendors will be on site, selling all types of goods from baked goods to clothes to knick-knacks.

"All of the cities offer vendors into the community to be centralized into the downtown area," says Evans.

The idea for the yard sale originated in Sylvester with a downtown merchant, and grew to include the other towns.

"$12 million in tourism money came through Sylvester, Worth County last year alone, so these yard sales and festivals, these all contribute to that," says Rackley.

The 100-mile route is a tourism effort to promote the region and showcase these towns to visitors who may end up buying a home or starting a business.

The yard sale will start at 8 AM tomorrow and run through 6PM, rain or shine.

There are still a few downtown spots left and can be rented for $30 each.
