THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - You can strut your paws for a good cause.

The 21st annual Thomasville-Thomas County Humane Society 5K Run for Rover begins at 9am Saturday at Thomas University.

Participants can run or walk through the Rose City.

Unlike the usual 5K, furry friends are welcome.

"It costs a lot of money to run The Humane Society and take care of the on average about 5,000 animals a year that come in. You have to have obviously a facility and food and medical care and vaccinations and all those sorts of things for the animals," said Executive Director Edward Williams.

There will also be a one mile Fun Run for kids 12 and under following the 5K.

Registration is $20 per runner.
