Captain Mack Green retires

Over the years, he's spent time in the drug unit, on the road, and ten years as an investigator.

APD Captain Mack Green says technology has come a long way, and has helped make a big difference in cracking down on crime.

"We had to walk the beat for 8 hours, that was your shift," said Green. "But you don't have to do that anymore; everybody got a car. It's good. The Albany Police Department is on their way up. To me, its the best department in the world."

Green says he will continue to work part time with the Dougherty County School system, and squeeze in a little time for fishing, too.
