Homer Holiday's friends and family held a prayer vigil Homer Holiday's friends and family held a prayer vigil
ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A longtime Albany business owner known for his generosity is terminally ill. He's hospitalized suffering from pancreatic cancer.

Homer Holiday's friends and family held a prayer vigil in front of his business, Union Cleaners in downtown Albany Friday.

The lights are out at Union Dry Cleaners and have been for weeks. The owner, Homer Holiday, is terminally ill and hospitalized.

"I'm sad. My heart is broken. He is my brother and I love him," said his Sister, Sharon Bynum.

The 51-year-old Holiday is a father, a friend and a practicing Muslim. For years, Holiday cleaned the clothes of senior citizens and the homeless free.

"He was an angel down here," said his friend, Parla Davis. "If he could help you he would. I've seen him feed the homeless."

At the Friday morning prayer vigil, friends and family cried, held hands and sang songs like "God looked beyond my faults and saw my needs."

Muslims and Christians united and prayed for Holiday's healing of Pancreatic Cancer.  "You know God has the last word," said Davis.

"God is able. God is able to do it all," said Bynum.

75-year-old Willa Williams fainted at the prayer vigil and was taken to the hospital. She's expected to be OK.

A community of Christians and Muslims united in prayer for a dear friend. Union Cleaners will be closed until further notice. If you have items still at the cleaners call 395-2704 to pick up your clothes.
