There are several big game matchups on this week's high school football schedule.
But there is not a bigger high school football game in the state than Lowndes and Valdosta.
The annual Winnersville Classic is our game of the week tonight.
Bragging rights mean everything to both sides in this series and it has been great year for Valdosta.
The Wildcats scored two touchdowns in the final minute of the game to beat Lowndes for the first time in eight years last season.
It was a memorable win for the Cats but also a memorable loss for the Vikings who have been waiting for this week to arrive for one solid year.
"I don't know about or theme or motivation. Our theme is to win the region but that has come up," Lowndes head coach Randy McPherson said.
"You just keep playing the full 48 minutes," Valdosta head coach Rance Gillespie said. "Last year some great things happened to us in the last couple of minutes of that football game. Our kids continueed to play. There at the end made the plays we had to make in order to win the football game."
The Winnersville Classic starts at 8:00 p.m. Friday at Cleveland Field.
