ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

An Albany Organization is helping in the fight against cancer... one peddle at a time.

The Cancer Coalition of South Georgia hosted its RIDE for HOPE at Tony's Gym, Thursday night.

55 indoor cycles were available for sponsorship at three levels: $100, $500, and $1000.

The ride raised money for cancer education, research and screening for South Georgians.

"We're looking to really find the reasons for the high cancer rates in our area and most importantly find ways to educate individuals and to prevent cancer and to find it earlier so it can be treat and hopefully cured," said Cancer Coalition of South Georgia CEO Diane Fletcher.

All donations from Thursday's event will directly benefit cancer patients in South Georgia.
