Employees of the University System of Georgia are about to pay a good bit more for health care.
Workers will see a nearly 6-percent in their insurance premiums next year.
It sounds like a lot, but it's actually lower than the nationwide average of around 9 per cent.
For the average USG employee, the increase works out to an extra 10 to 12 dollars per month.
Officials at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College say they're looking for ways to try to keep costs down.
Richard Spancake ABAC Director of Human Resources said, "wellness and other initiatives. Wellness is going to be a major focus going forward to try and control medical costs and medical inflation."
The University System also increased the cost of health insurance for future retirees hired starting next year.
Those retirees will see their contributions indexed to the amount of time they serve in the system.
