ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Two South Albany homeowners were awakened by bullets fired into houses early Thursday morning.  No one was injured, but they're wondering why gunmen targeted them.

About 5:40 Thursday morning, Lorenzo Russ heard a noise in his kitchen, and found that a bullet had gone completely through his West Whitney home.

It even went through the refrigerator, breaking soda cans and water bottles, out a window and hit the house next door. Russ thinks someone driving by fired the shot at random.

"Just some knuckleheads, man. Ain't no telling what they got going on around here. But obviously it could have killed someone. Yea, could have done that. If I been in the kitchen, I would have probably get shot," said Lorenzo Russ, Gunshot Victim.

Russ said he has had no problems in the neighborhood before.

Just a block away on Edgerly Avenue someone also fired a bullet through the front window of Abraham Johnson's home just after 5 a.m..

Johnson, his wife and daughter were asleep and were not injured.

The bullet went through a window a couch inside the living room and lodged in the wall behind it.

"Yes, it could have been deadly. I normally be on that couch, watching television.  You know that what man's do. Thank God I wasn't there at that time," said Abraham Johnson, Gunshot Victim.

From the angle of the bullet's path, Johnson thinks the gunman was standing in his driveway.

This afternoon, he found a shell casing in his yard and turned it over to Police.
