TIFTON, GA (WALB) -

Job hunters are hoping to get lucky at the 2012 Community Career Resource Fair in Tifton.

More than 50 local businesses and industries are  participating in the fair at Moultrie Technical College's Tifton Campus Conference Center.

Moultrie Tech and the Tifton office of the Georgia Department of Labor teamed up to present the event to familiarize the businesses and industries in our region and job hunters with one another.

The event is open to the public as well as all Moultrie Tech students and graduates.

Job seekers will learn about local companies and what skills they would expect their employees to possess. In turn, businesses may find matches for future employment.

"Moultrie Technical College's fall semester will end on December 13; therefore, businesses and industries will have the first opportunity to meet the college's newest crop of upcoming and well-trained graduates with the addition of students from the GreenTift program," says Bridgett Adams, MTC career services specialist.

Additionally, all job seekers are encouraged to bring updated resumes and all information necessary to complete job applications on site. Furthermore, to create a positive first impression with employers, Adams urges participants to come dressed in business attire. Because this is a professional event and space is limited, no children or strollers will be permitted.

Industries expected to be at the fair include armed forces, banking, beauty, child care, education, fitness, food processing, government, health care, home improvement, industrial manufacturing, insurance, law enforcement, media, non-profits, sales and transportation, among others.

Admission and parking for the career fair are free. For more details about the 2012 Community Career Resource Fair, contact Bridgett Adams at Moultrie Tech's Tifton Campus at (229) 391-2611 or Erica Stallings at (229) 217-4149.

The fair ends at noon.
