From death defying twist and turns to feats of extreme speeds the sport of Acrobatic Flying can be challenging to say the least but a local doctor is climbing the ladder to perfect it.
Dr. Stanley Moye recently won the Intermediate Group Championship at the U.S. National Aerobatic Competition in Dennison, Texas.
He says watching tapes of old World War II plans peaked his interest in the sport at an early age and urged him to begin flying.
Moye has put in years of practice and credits his wife Geri for keeping him on track and focused while he's in the air.
He says winning the championship was a dream he once wasn't sure he could ever accomplish.
Dr. Stanley Moye said. "10, 20 years ago as a teenager I said that would be really fun but I'm sure that I wont be able to do that but I actually think back to those times now and think gosh this is great. My family and my support systems work with me and allow me to accomplish this that I've really been looking forward to doing for 20 years or longer."
Moye plans to move to the advanced level for his next competition.
