ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
Former Brooks County Sheriff Richard Chafin, 59, will serve13 months in prison for embezzlement from a federal program, and obstruction of justice.
He will have to repay Brooks County $63,730.
Chafin served as sheriff from 1987 until 2008.
He is free on bond until he has to report to the bureau of prisons.
