Emergency Room Nurses, Paramedics and other staff gathered over breakfast to celebrate at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
This whole week has been set aside by the Emergency Nurses Association to honor those who work in Emergency Rooms.
Wednesday morning, ER staff went through an educational drug seminar by the Albany-Drug Task force unit.
Mayor Dorothy Hubbard also made an appearance and said thanks for all their hard work.
"We appreciate the work they do. All of us could not do that kind of work. I think it takes a certain type of person to be a nurse," Hubbard said.
Staff will continue to celebrate National ER Nurses Week with educational seminars all week.
