All power has been restored to areas affected by an early morning power outage in Albany according to WG&L.

A transformer blew at 8th Avenue and Palmyra Road, apparently caused by a raccoon climbing on the transformer.

APD officers were called out to direct traffic.

Engineers said that they identified the problem and worked quickly to bring the electricity back to the affected areas.

In a separate recent incident, a snake crawled between two high-power terminals and caused a widespread power outage in the Southeastern part of Dougherty County.
