ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The beer was flowing and the banjos were picking, Tuesday night, at the Albany Museum of Art to help kick off a major music festival.

Threeforty Creative Group sponsored Beer and Banjos at the museum, leading up to the Georgia Throwdown.

Folks enjoyed boiled peanuts, Beer from Miller Coors and bluegrass music.

Organizers say the community needs more events like this.

"This town needs this weekend more than any other town in the state of Georgia and we're begging people to come out and have a good time and enjoy it. It's so affordable and we want everybody to come out and enjoy this weekend," said Threeforty Creative Group President Justin Andrews.

All proceeds from Tuesday's event will help maintain free admission at the Museum for all visitors.
