A cold start to the day led to a cold start for the Darton golf team in the third and final round of the Darton Invitational.
Darton shot a final round 302 to finish in third place at their own tournament.
Central Alabama Community College won the tournament with Brevard finishing in second.
Head coach Bill Jones III says his young team was caught off guard by the first real cool morning of the fall.
He is disappointed with the finish for his team but knows it was a good learning experience.
Bill Jones III said. It was nice to get on to a golf course that was a little more comfortable. At the same point we expected to finish a little better because we were comfortable on the golf course. We still have some growing up to do but we saw a lot of potential in both our a and b teams. If we would have put the line up where they finish then we would have finished second place easily, maybe even close to the lead. We just have to find out which five are going to play the best that week and once we get that going we're going to start winning."
Darton will return to action for the District IV preview tournament in South Carolina in two weeks.
