Two years after his controversial hiring, Dougherty County School board members will meet Wednesday morning to discuss the future of superintendent Joshua Murfree.
Murfree was hired in March 2010 by a sharply divided school board. Consultants ranked him 34th on the list of qualified candidates.
But board members James Bush, Anita Williams-Brown, Milton Griffin and Velvet Riggins voted to hire him anyway.
The school system has been plagued with problems in the last two years, including the CRCT cheating investigation and state and federal investigations into the use of Title I money and the free or reduced school lunch program.
Murfree has nine months left on his contract.
The board will meet in executive session at 10 am Wednesday.
WALB News 10 will be there to let you know what, if any decisions are made.
