ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Telephones at the Dougherty County Police Department were out for almost six hours Tuesday, as they continue work on line problems.

A contractor for AT&T is working on the lines outside DCP headquarters.

The lines go through several pine tree roots, and are requiring more work.

Tuesday morning, no one could answer the main line to the police department.

"We really don't know. We've been experiencing problems for the last two weeks, and it's only getting worse. We are at the mercy of the AT&T company right now," said DCP Captain Thomas Jackson.

If you need to call them, use 430-6602 and 430-6603.
