ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

An Albany organization dedicated to helping boys got a generous grant, Monday night.

REAL Boys, REAL Men received a $5,000 check from the Jack and Jill foundation.

The group helps 8 to 12-year-old boys from single-parent homes or those who have economic or behavioral challenges.

Organization leaders say the money is needed.

"I, along with a few other mentors and parents, have been funding the program out of our pockets and this check will great help us to give more support to our students and provide them with more opportunity for success," said REAL Boys, REAL Men founder Martez Fabis.

The group plans to use the money for field trips and needed supplies.
