DOUGLAS, GA (WALB) -
Alana Thompson, also known as Honey Boo Boo, has become a household name. And Saturday fans had a chance to meet the reality star in Douglas, where she gets her pageant gowns.
A meet and greet at Lucy Lu's boutique brought out quite the crowd. Fans were able to meet their favorite feisty half pint starlet and there were even gift card giveaways.
"We're running on about two hours of sleep, we were up all night long camping. But it was our mission today to see Honey Boo Boo and we got to see Honey Boo Boo so it was all worth it," said Deana Merritt, a Honey Boo Boo fan.
The event also gave fans an opportunity to browse the store the reality star turns to stay on top of her competition.
"We have another dress in the near future. So we'll start on that before long and we'll see what happens," said Lacey Nugent, owner of Lucy Lu's.
The family has relied on the boutique for several pageants and the exposure has provided a boost for business. During the event, donations were also gathered for an anti-bullying campaign.
Alana encouraged all of her fans to be a buddy, not a bully.
