Rams rough up Lane in Music City Classic, 36-14

Now this is the Albany State that Rams fans are used to! ASU won back to back games after beating Lane 36-14 in the Music City Classic played in Macon on Saturday.  The back to back wins coming after Albany State started the season 1-3.

The scoring started when Nathan Hoyte found pay dirt on a 15 yard scamper to make it a 7-0 game.  Hoyte added a 10 yard scoring rush in the first quarter giving ASU a 7 point advantage.  Quarterback David Kooi, who has struggled this season, hooked up with Julian Bellinger for a 21 yard pass and catch right before the half giving ASU a 29-7 lead at the break.

Kooi kept it up in the 3rd quarter finding his tight end Cessel Taylor for his second TD catch of the game pushing the ASU lead to 36-7.  Lane added a touchdown late in the game but the victory was sealed at that point.

Albany State improved to 3-3 on the season, 2-1 in the SIAC and will play Morehouse in Atlanta on October 13th at 7:00 p.m.
