ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
Wildlife enthusiasts got a chance to see Georgia's creatures up close and personal.
The Flint RiverQuarium hosted their third annual Wings and Wildlife Festival to celebrate south Georgia's native wildlife.
It consisted of hands-on and interactive family activities, from instructions on how to build a birdhouse to guided garden tours at Radium Springs. People enjoyed reptile and amphibian shows and watched the birds of prey demonstration.
"It kind of goes with our mission, our mission is about education and we have animals, so it just kind of makes sense, we are educating the public on animals," says Melissa Martin, Flint RiverQuarium Education Manager.
Organizers hope people left the festival with a renewed appreciation for the Flint River and its native wildlife.
