Good news for people in Ben Hill County, the school board is not increasing taxes.
This news comes just weeks after the county raised it's property tax rate by one mil.
The tax digest has been decreasing over the years.
While the school system had to raise its milage rate by one tenth of a mil, they won't be collected anymore taxes.
"Although we need the money, my board doesn't feel like it is justified to go to the people, to try to bring in new revenues," says School board Financial Director, Thomas Rachels.
He says the school board tries to hold the rate as low as possible, in fact it has been 8 years since the school board has raised taxes. increase.
