FITZGERALD, GA (WALB) -

A Fitzgerald woman needs two lungs, and you can help her raise money to afford the transplant, and hear some good live local music at the same time.

Patricia Turner has chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and needs a double lung transplant. One of her lungs doesn't work, and only one fourth of her other lung is functioning properly.

This is why her family is hosting a Benefit Sing to raise money for her medical expenses.

"I'm on different types of medication for it, and I have to stay on my oxygen 24/7, it is just very hard for me to breathe and when I have these spells, and I get to where I can't breathe it is like I cant get enough air," said Turner.

The benefit is Friday and Saturday, October 26th and 27th and is being held at Paulk Park in Fitzgerald.

Admission is free and raffle tickets will be sold at the event. For more, call 912-599-0266.
