A downtown Albany street will closed Friday in preparation for a weekend festival.

Stages are already being assembled at Riverfront Park for Flint Fest.

Starting at noon, the 100 block of North Front Street and the 200 block of South Front Street will be closed to all traffic.

Downtown Manager Aaron Blair says he's optimistic this year's Flint Fest will have a bigger economic impact than last year's.

"Last year, during Flint Fest 1, we had 5,000 people. As far as the impact, it was great. People got to experience Riverfront Park and the businesses downtown saw an influx in sales so that's what we would like to see," said Blair.

Flint Fest runs from noon to midnight Saturday.

It includes a main music stage, an international entertainment stage, vendors and an artists' village.
