Georgia's lottery-funded pre-K is celebrating its 20th anniversary.

Two women in Tifton have been with the program from the beginning.

Darcie Norton and Wanda Horton started work at the Tift County Pre-K center when the program was launched across the state.

Schools across the state are celebrating with various activities.

Monday, State Senator John Crosby came read to Tifton students.

Today, they were excited when "Pete the Cat" made a special appearance.

"Everything you do, even the bus ride is exciting. Never mind what you are going to see when you get there everything to them is exciting and fun and that makes it worthwhile," said Darcie Norton, Teacher

"Never a dull moment when the kids come in there is always something different, from watching the kids from the beginning of the school year to when they leave it's a big difference," said Wanda Horton, Para Professional

Those long-time employees say they don't plan on changing jobs anytime soon.
